Fleur limited X'mas Live ~Yuki no Kubikazari~
December 23rd, 2003
Shibuya O-Crest

This was a fun show and very festive. All the members wore Santa suits, though Kamijo and Kazumi ditched their Santa hats early on. They opened with "fiancailles" and then played a selection of midtempo songs old and new. Nothing so heavy as "Solitude", but of course they did play the winter theme songs like "Metamorphose" and "whiteness". They also did "Legato", which was SO beautiful live, and the new song "Tenshi ni koishita shoujo no yume" which is on "Etude -Platinum White-".

After the first set Kamijo and Kazumi came back out to goof around with a video camera. Kazumi's never uptight, but it's fun to see Kamijo when he's not burdened with a princely costume to live up to because he's almost always so much more relaxed and silly. Kazumi talked for a while while Kamijo filmed; then they switched and Kazumi filmed the audience, which had Kamijo jumping around in "over HERE! Film ME!!" mode until Kazumi turned the camera to him. Then of course he told Kazumi to film the audience. Kamijo talked for a while about how glad he is to have Kazumi in the band, and Kazumi goofed around with the camera screen backwards shooting himself in front of the audience. Then Kamijo told Kazumi to get shots of the audience members individually. And Kazumi actually made a really diligent effort to do this! He started at one corner and carefully worked around to get a shot of every single fan! I was so surprised, I thought Kazumi would just run the camera back and forth a couple of times; but he was so careful to aim and pause to get a clear image of everyone.

Then Mayu and Emiru came out with sheet music and music stands for the whole band to play "Jingle Bells" together. Kamijo used a copy of the sheet music with katakana lyrics for reference and wanted the audience to sing along, but I suppose I was probably the only one there who knew all the English words. Then in the middle of the song he said Japanese was okay, which made me feel really stupid for about 2 seconds until it became clear that if "Jingle Bells" has Japanese lyrics Kamijo doesn't know them either! His "Japanese" version of "Jingle Bells" was basically
Jingle bells, jingle bells
[one short line of Japanese]
La la la la la la la la la
La la la la la la la la la

"I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas" was just the same... the title lyrics, and then "la la la" ALL the way through. It was very cute and funny... although for all I know, these really ARE the "Japanese" lyrics. ^^;;;

Oh, there was one REALLY funny part of the show... Both New Sodmy and Lareine fans (including me of course ^^;) are SO rhymically inept that they cannot even maintain an "an-ko-ru" chant at a steady beat and it's just the saddest thing. This time, we even screwed up the "Fleur" singalong! Maybe it's because this show was fan club only, so the audience contained only the biggest fans and none of the casual fans who can keep a beat. (Why is it that the more one likes Lareine, the less likely it is that one will have a sense of rhythm? ^^;) The members of Lareine were practically crossing their eyes with dismay at how far off our singing was from the song's beat. Finally Kamijo stopped the music and instructed us to follow him as he waved his arm like a conductor. *ROFL* And Kazumi and Mayu gradually eased back into playing the song.

After the show, the band posed outside for memento Polaroids with fans. I look hideous in this picture (so I will never scan it) but I love it anyway. ^^;
